Introducing Our Obsessions

This is going to be the first of what we will be regularly posting as "Our Obsessions".

You see, we got into this business in the first place because we love jewelry. And obviously, we own most of everything we sell here - because we choose our collections based on our own personal tastes. It's a nice occupational perk!

So, even though we think everything in our store is fabulous, there are some items that we find ourselves wearing more than others - our obsessions. Or, sometimes we discover that pairing this necklace with that other one - and maybe mixing different styles - can change how we feel about a particular piece or even better, our wardrobe choices. The point here is to have fun with jewelry and make it part of your daily dressing process. At best, accessorizing can make an already amazing outfit even better. At the very least, it can spice up an otherwise drab and boring look on those days you don't have the time or energy to dress up (it's raining, laundry day, casual friday, etc.).

Now to the good stuff. First up: the Charleston Sautoir, by Médecine Douce.

Sautoirs are long, rope style necklaces that fall below the waistline and terminate with a tassel, first popularized during the Edwardian era. The Charleston Sautoir is a modern take on this style, with antiqued gold brass beads and chains. Wear it doubled once and long for a chic, minimalist look. You can wrap it around your neck up to 4 times to create a shorter, multi-layered necklace too. The hoops and dangly bits can be moved around to fall to the center or off to the sides for a more assymetrical look.

It's also a great layering piece. We really like the idea of wearing the Charleston Sautoir with another decorative necklace, like a pendant.

We've paired it here with the Snowflake Locket Pendant , also by Médecine Douce.
